1. Introduction and Legal Framework
This Extended Warranty Agreement ("Agreement") is provided by Nawa LLC ("the Company") to the purchaser ("the Customer"). This Agreement provides supplementary coverage for mechanical, electrical, Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), and High-Voltage (HV) component failures beyond normal wear and tear.
1.1 Statutory Rights Acknowledgment:
Nothing in this Agreement shall exclude, limit, or restrict the Customer’s statutory rights under the Oman Consumer Protection Law (promulgated by Royal Decree No. 66/2014) and the regulations of the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA). This warranty operates in addition to, and not in replacement of, the consumer's fundamental legal rights regarding product safety, conformity to description, and merchantability.
2. Definitions
- Hybrid Vehicles (HEV/PHEV): Standard Hybrid Electric Vehicles and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles utilizing both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor covered under this plan.
- Internal Combustion Engine (ICE): The traditional gasoline-powered engine assembly working in tandem with the electric system.
- High Voltage (HV) Battery: The primary lithium-ion (or equivalent) battery pack used to propel the vehicle, separate from the standard 12V auxiliary battery.
- State of Health (SoH): The remaining capacity of the HV Battery compared to its original capacity when new, as measured by Nawa’s authorized diagnostic equipment.
- Electric Drive Unit (EDU): The electric motor(s), inverter, and DC-DC converter.
- Mechanical Failure: The sudden and unforeseen failure of a covered component to perform its intended function due to a manufacturing defect or internal breakdown
3. Eligibility
This Extended Warranty is available for purchase for eligible Hybrid vehicles provided that:
- The vehicle must not have exceeded the threshold of the applicable warranty package purchased, being either
- One (1) year from the original date of purchase or 10,000 km (whichever occurs first), or;
- Three (3) years from the original date of purchase or 50,000 km (whichever occurs first).
- The vehicle has a fully documented service history in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.
- The vehicle successfully passes Nawa Inspection prior to warranty extension activation.
- For vehicles with a mileage exceeding 10,000 km at the time of purchase, this Extended Warranty Agreement is subject to a thirty (30) day waiting period and shall become effective thirty (30) days after the purchase date.
4. Scope of Coverage
If a covered component suffers a Mechanical Failure during the extended warranty period, Nawa will cover the cost of parts and labor to repair or replace the component at Nawa service center.
4.1 Internal Combustion Engine & Transmission:
Internal lubricated components of the engine block, cylinder head, and the hybrid transmission/transaxle assembly
4.2 Electric Drive and Propulsion:
Coverage includes the Electric Drive Unit (EDU), stator, rotor, inverter, DC-DC converter, and regenerative braking system components.
4.3 Thermal Management System:
Coverage includes the battery cooling and heating systems, coolant pumps, and thermal sensors critical to the safe operation of the HV Battery in the Omani climate.
4.4 Air Conditioner:
Coverage includes compressor, condenser, evaporator, refrigerators, and labor work to rectify any leak. For clarity, the warranty does not cover pipes, hoses, seals, gaskets, refrigerants, compressor oil, filters or consumables.
4.5 Charging Infrastructure (On-Board):
Coverage includes the on-board charger (OBC) and the vehicle's physical charging port receptacle.
4.6 High Voltage (HV) Battery Guarantee (Degradation vs. Failure):
- Failure: Complete failure of the HV battery to accept or hold a charge is covered.
- Capacity Degradation: Gradual capacity loss over time is a normal characteristic of lithium-ion batteries. However, under this Extended Warranty, Nawa guarantees that the HV Battery will retain a minimum State of Health (SoH) of 70%. If Nawa’s diagnostic tools determine the SoH has dropped below 70% during the coverage period, Nawa will repair or replace the battery components to restore capacity above 70%.
5. Exclusions (What is NOT Covered)
Any parts or items not included on the list above under Section 4 are not covered by this warranty, including, but not limited to, the following:

10. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Sultanate of Oman.
Any disputes arising from the interpretation or implementation of this Agreement shall first be subject to internal mediation with Nawa Customer Care. If a resolution cannot be reached, the Customer retains the absolute right to escalate the matter to the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) or the competent Omani courts.
